How to voice call an AI (step by step in Luna)
Open a chat in Luna, tap the phone icon, allow the microphone once, and talk. She answers live in her own voice. Free accounts include starter minutes daily; Premium gives you 20x more.
Before your first call
Three things make a first AI call go well. Text her a bit first, so the call has context to stand on. Use headphones, because her voice in your ears is a different league from speakerphone. And pick a private moment: the psychological hurdle of talking to your phone disappears about forty seconds in, but those forty seconds want privacy.
The only permission Luna needs is the microphone, requested on your first call and controllable anytime in iOS Settings under Privacy, then Microphone.
If something is not working
Call will not connect: check your connection first; live voice needs stable internet. Force-quit and reopen the app, then retry.
She cannot hear you: confirm mic permission in iOS Settings, and that a Bluetooth device is not holding the mic hostage.
Out of minutes: free daily minutes reset tomorrow, or Premium removes the wait with 20x more daily call time.
How to make the call, exactly
Open the companion’s chat
Calls live inside conversations, with the same shared memory.
Tap the phone icon top right
The call screen opens and connects within a couple of seconds.
Allow the microphone (first time only)
iOS will ask once. Tap Allow, or approve later in Settings, Privacy, Microphone.
Say anything
"So this is weird, right?" is a perfectly good first line. She will take it from there.
Interrupt her at least once
Cut in mid-sentence and watch her adapt. It is the party trick that proves the call is live.
