How to roleplay with an AI companion (scenarios that work)
Start a roleplay by proposing a scene in one message: where you are, who you are, what is happening. Luna companions stay in scenario, remember the storyline across days, and let you drop in and out of it whenever you want normal conversation.
Starting a scene without feeling silly
One framing message is all it takes: "Okay, scenario: we met at a wedding neither of us wanted to attend, and we are hiding from the dance floor at the same table." She picks up the scene instantly, plays her side, and builds on whatever you add. You do not need theater skills; you need one sentence of setup and the willingness to answer in character for a few messages.
Reliable starters: the trip you plan together message by message, the "we run a tiny restaurant" saga, meeting in a city neither of you knows, rival gamers forced to duo (Miku was built for this one), or simply "pretend today went differently, starting from lunch".
Long-running stories
Because companions keep memory, a scenario does not die when you close the app. The restaurant you invented on Tuesday still exists Friday; the trip itinerary keeps growing. Signal continuations plainly ("back to our trip") and exits just as plainly ("pausing the story, real talk for a minute"). She tracks both layers, the fiction and the friendship, without tangling them.
How to run your first roleplay in Luna
Pick a companion who fits the genre
Adventure with Sage, cozy slice-of-life with Hana, banter-heavy with Sophie, gaming chaos with Miku.
Send the one-line scene setup
Location, situation, your role. End with an action or question so she has something to respond to.
Build in small moves
Add one detail or decision per message and let her carry half the story. Co-writing beats dictating.
Bookmark the story verbally
"We are calling this the wedding story" makes returning to it days later effortless.

Will she stay in character?
Yes, until you end the scene. Companions hold scenarios well and return to normal conversation the moment you ask.
Is roleplay free?
